A request had been received from Government for bells across the UK to be rung to mark the 70th Anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE Day) over the weekend of 8th - 10th May 2015 received much media interest.

The desire was for bells to be rung at 11am on Saturday 9th May or alternatively at other convenient times over the weekend Friday to Sunday 8th-10th May. The Church of England had also been approached by Government in the hope that the extra-curricular ringing would be allowed.

Unsurprisingly, the event had much publicity in the national and local media, including (in particular) on the front page of the BBC Website, in the printed press and on their websites too. Links to some of the coverage are given below:
