Central Council News: CRAG Group
Updated 29th April 2017
The Central Council Review Action Group (CRAG) has published its report today ahead of the forthcoming Central Council meeting. Whilst, at first glance, this might not seem that relevant to us, the report contains a number of recommendations which may change the way that ringing is organised, how it is viewed externally and how it is promoted. The report has possible implications for us as an Association and how we might interact with a direct member organisation.
Association Members are encouraged to read the Report (Summary and Full Report available on CRAG website) and provide feedback to our two Central Council representatives, Pip Penney and Sam Bolingbroke. They, along with the other Reps, will have to vote on the proposals at the CC Meeting on 29th May so guidance on the views of members is important. It is the Association's view that CRAG has done a great deal of work in a short period of time. The proposals are impressive and the members of CRAG (including Peter Bennett) should be congratulated. Ringing needs to adapt and move forward if it is to survive and this is an important step in that process.
Ringing at Trevethin will not be possible whilst a large refurbishment project is being undertaken on the church. Until further notice the (2nd, 4th and 5th) Wednesday practices will be relocated to other towers - mainly Tredunnoc from 6.00-7.15pm. Visitors very welcome.
Neath, St Thomas
Ringing has temporarily stopped at St Thomas, Neath due to the tower being repointed. Hope to be ringing again soon.

2017 Llandaff Branch Striking Competiton
Llandaff Branch Striking Competition 2017
This year's Llandaff Branch Striking Competitions for the Dennis Perry and Gwyn Lewis Trophies took place at Llanblethian on Saturday 13th May 2017 on what turned out to be a lovely sunny afternoon in The Vale of Glamorgan.
There was a good turnout of towers, particularly in the Call Change Section, which saw a band from Aberavon taking part for the first time; the last time that an Aberavon band entered any competition (in Swansea & Brecon DG) is thought to be in the early 1960s. There was also a fine effort from Merthyr Tydfil's band of younger ringers
Monmouth Branch Newsletters
Updated 13th May 2017
The Monmouth Branch publishes a quarterly Newsletter for its membership.
A copy of each edition of the Newsletter is sent to each Branch tower via the notified tower correspondent. Email copies are also sent to those who've asked to receive them that way.
2016 Annual Report
If all has gone to plan then most of the Association's membership will have by now received their copy of the 2016 Annual Report.
The Report contains details of Association and Branch activities, practices, accounts, etc. The Report also contains the full list of Tower Correspondents which was, to the best of endeavours, correct at the time of going to press.
