#  2018 Inter-Branch Striking Competitions 

 

   Details    Written by: Webmaster    Category: [News](/news)     Published: 20 July 2018     Created: 20 July 2018     Last Updated: 22 July 2018     Hits: 3220 This year's Inter-Branch Striking Competitions were held at Michaelston-y-Fedw on Wednesday 11th July 2018, a date and time which coincided with England's World Cup Semi-Final with Croatia. Nonetheless, there was a good turn-out of bands and supporters for a very enjoyable evening in the sunshine.

Our Judges were Hal and Becky Drysdale and they adjudicated as follows:

**Call Change Competition:**  
 Rumney 71  
 Southern Vale 88.5  
 Merthyr 108

**Method Competition:**  
 Rumney 93  
 Llandaff 95  
 Newport 101.5  
 Cadoxton 118

Rumney therefore go forward to represent the Association in the All-Wales Competitions at Brecon Cathedral on Saturday 29th September.

Many thanks to our Master, Matthew Turner, for making the arrangements, to Becky and Hal for judging, to the authorities at Michaelston-y-Fedw and to the Cefn Mably Arms for their warm welcome (and fine beer!).
