August 2021 Updates

Code which allows the embedding of YouTube videos updated.

• Various system updates applied.
• PHP version updated to 7.4.22

Forms code updated; changes for forward compatibility.

Code that allows articles to be placed anywhere on the site updated; a few bug-fixes plus forward compatibility changes.

Administrators’ suite of tools updated. 

Lots of updates today, all for forward compatibility 

1. Code that allows articles and "modules" to be displayed anywhere on the site.
2. Content templating code.
3. Tool for making content and site-setting changes at database level.
4. Email-address cloaking system.
5. GeoIP functionality.
6. Code for making tabs in article content.
7. Code to allow sharing of content on social media (Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp, etc).

Core software update; 1st of two steps towards major version upgrade 

Component for managing access and viewing permissions (amongst other things!) updated; new features and changes for forward compatibility 

Private Messaging system removed from site:

1. Hardly anyone knew it was available.
2. It hadn't been used at all for 6+ years.
3. It was horrible to maintain/update.

All code, Forums integration and all messages have been completely removed
